Pepper-herb Beef Stroganoff

I love stroganoff. It was a staple dinner food in my house...however my parents used ground beef instead of steak. So the steak could be substitued for 1/2 lb ground beef. It's still yummy that way. Also, I omitted the chili sauce because...again...I don't like spicy things.

Serves 2

1 tbsp butter or margarine

1/2 lb beef sirloin steak, cut into thin bite-size strips

1/4 tsp garlic salt

1/4 tsp pepper

1 1/2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms

1/4 cup beef broth

1 tbsp chili sauce

1/4 tsp dried thyme leaves

1/4 cup chive and onion sour cream

2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped.

Hot cooked Egg Noodles

Melt butter in skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef strips; sprinkle with garlic salt and pepper. Cook 2-3 minutes until browned. Add mushrooms, cook 2 minutes. Stir in broth, chili sauce, and thyme. Cook 3-5 minutes until flavors blend nicely. Reduce heat to medium-low, stir in sour cream. Sprinkle with parsley and serve over hot cooked noodles.
